Care Ministry Program . . . Caring for each other
Mission Statement: Desert Garden United Church of Christ is committed to meeting the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of its church family through volunteers and staff.
Pastor Sam leads the critical care team to care for those facing death, surgery, tragedies and emergencies. Stephen Ministry-trained volunteers provide 'frontine' support. They also provide communion and counseling.
Church volunteeers minister to those needing assistance with transportation; shopping, doctor appointments, meals and other daily living activites resulting from being homebound or recovering from medical issues. They also provide support and encouragement with cards, calls, visits, flowers, companionship, etc.
Our program includes a wellness and education component with informatiove presentations.
There are times in everyone's lives when support is needed through certain seasons, relationships, challenges and when the unexpected happens. Desert Garden Church offers trusted resources and volunteers in addition to the Pastor to support and encourage you.
The purpose of the Care Team at Desert Garden Church is to share the love of God and the church family through making visits, phone calls, prayer, sending cards, delivering flowers and meals, providing transportation, delivering cookies, offering support groups, prayer blankets along with other forms of reaching out in God's love.
If you know of someone who may be in need of a visit from our Pastor or are in need of a visit yourself or would like to become a part of the vital gift of caring, please contact our church office.

"Strengthen the Church"
Strengthen the Church (STC) is a special mission offering to
reimagine and build the future of the UCC. Shared at the conference and national levels, STC largely supports youth ministries and full-time leaders for new churches in parts of the country where the
UCC voice has not been heard.
As God calls our congregations to be the church in new ways, your generosity will plant new churches, awaken new ideas in existing churches and develop the spiritual life in our youth and young adults. The STC offering is on Sunday, June 4, 2017
